Town-Related Conservation Easements

The Town-Related Conservation Easements (current October 2019) are:

KIMBALL ISLAND (SQUAM LAKE) – currently monitored by the Squam Lakes Conservation Society (SLCS). In 2018, the easement ownership was transferred to SLCS (Primary Protection Agency) with the Secondary Protection Agency (executory interest) held by the Town of Center Harbor.

Small Property at the Foot of STURTEVANT BAY (SQUAM LAKE) – currently monitored by the Squam Lakes Conservation Society (SLCS). The easement is owned by the SLCS (Primary Protection Agency); the Secondary Protection Agency is the Town of Center Harbor.

TWOMBLY PROPERTY (SQUAM LAKE) - currently monitored by the Primary Protection Agency (Society for the Protection of NH Forests); the Secondary Protection Agencies are the Town of Center Harbor and the Town of Holderness (“executory interest”).

CENTER HARBOR WOODS – owned by the Lakes Region Conservation Trust. Conservation Easement owned by the Squam Lakes Conservation Society (SLCS) as the Primary Protection Agency; the Town of Center Harbor holds an executory interest. Currently monitored by SLCS.

FOGG HILL CONSERVATION AREA – owned by the Lakes Region Conservation Trust. Conservation Easement owned by the Town of Center Harbor.  Monitored by the Town of Center Harbor / Center Harbor Conservation Commission.

 

Please Note: there are other conservation easements within the Town that do not involve the Town as a “Protection Agency” – please refer to Appendix F in the Natural Resources Inventory documenting these properties.
