Proposed Municipal Building Solar Photovoltaic Project

(Requires majority vote at 2024 Town Meeting)

A series of three Public Hearings regarding the project to install a ground based Photovoltaic Array at the Municipal Building were held November 29, 2023, December 16, 2023, and January 17, 2024. The public is encouraged to learn more in preparation to vote on a warrant article at the 2024 Town Meeting in March. A fact sheet, based on the materials presented at the public hearings is available below.

This document (distributed at 2023 Town Meeting) provides information to the Town residents on a project that is being explored by the Energy Committee and Selectmen. The project is to add a photovoltaic array to offset electricity costs for the Municipal Building.

Further work is needed to refine the proposal and go out for bid to get final facts and figures, which will then be presented to the Town for the 2024 Town Meeting warrant.

This information is being made available here to residents so that they can provide input to the Energy Committee and Selectmen as to whether they support this potential project.
