What's Going On at the old Town House? August 2016
August 28, 2016: Our 1844 Town House was open to visitors for the first time in over 25 years.
Heritage Commission members were on hand to answer questions about the history, architecture, proposed rehab, and reuse plans for the Town House.
Visitors were especially curious about the huge Waterman-Waterbury heater, which warmed the Town House when it served as a 1-room schoolhouse from 1933-1945.
A special guest was Olympic skier and gold medalist Penny Pitou, who attended 1st and 2nd grades at the Town House School. She is seen here with Heritage Commission member Roland Garland.
